I hate Dickens. Bleak House is the driest, wordiest, slowest-moving piece of garbage writing I've thus far encountered. And keep in mind, I've been in high-stakes English classes since elementary school and have thus been exposed to quite a bit of literature, not all of it enjoyable. And this is BY FAR the lamest crap I've ever read. I had no idea one could take period English style and add soap opera to it and make it completely and utterly BORING! Period English is supposed to be pretty and prosey and thus NOT boring; soap operas are supposed to be full of drama and again NOT BORING. But no. Mr. Dickens, you have officially taken two things which, by design, are supposed to be beautiful on the one hand and full of action on the other and turned them into pointless drivel. I'm not by any means commending soap operas--can't stand the shit. But they're full of unrealistic drama and lots of he-did-this-and-she-did-that-and-what'sherface-from-last-season-is-having-whatshisface-from-last-episode's-baby-and-oh-my-god-we-never-saw-it-coming! Bleak House SUCKS.
